The communal guest area houses the bar, undercover dining area and lounge.
The deck in front is a great place to relax with a sundowner in hand after a hard days fishing.
Many meals are enjoyed outdoors under the stars around the fire pit of the main boma.
A second fireplace it situated close to the communal area so that guests can sit around the fire in winter, warming their hands, while waiting to start the day’s fishing.
Accommodation comprises of ten Meru style tents on raided wooden decks, which overlook the Mambova rapids. It’s possible to throw a line in from just outside the front door of a tent. (Great fun – we’ve done it!)
There are 8 twin bedded tents and two family tents which sleep four people in each.
Each tent has a private en-suite bathroom with a shower, basin and toilet.

Sekoma Island Lodge is an excellent destination for the adventurous angler with the hard fighting tiger being the prize. Guests also have the chance to catch large tilapia, various bream species, catfish and African pike.
Sekoma has a fleet of eight boats which are powered by 55hp motors. Boats take a maximum of two fly fishermen or four lure anglers at one time.
Fly fishing and lure fishing are the most popular fishing methods.
The largemouth bream and tilapia species, namely the Nembwe (Olive bream), Thinface largemouth, Humpback largemouth as well as Threespot- and Redbreast tilapia take artificials readily.
Tiger fish are caught mainly by fly fishing and artificial lure fishing, but in April, when the river is high and often dirty, the lodge allows for some bait fishing with circle hooks.
